MY NAME IS ALLIE.
I have a special place in my heart for youth and women and an interest in the justice system. That’s why I volunteer in the community with women who are struggling.
I’m learning about some of the struggles that take place in our community and lending a shoulder to women who need someone to help them stand tall.
An exceptional part of my experience is working with the Girl Power group in local middle schools. I have the opportunity to talk with girls openly and honestly about issues that they are dealing with and may not be well educated on such as safe sex. It’s an opportunity for these girls to feel safe to talk about their concerns and learn about their own strength.
I feel encouraged and empowered knowing that I’m making a difference in the lives of these young ladies—a difference that can positively impact them as the progress into adulthood. The positive feedback that I’ve received from the group feels great too.
Sharing my strength, that’s how I give back.
